Lots of great covers & alternate versions of songs yesterday, though I must admit that not hearing "The Load Out" before Jackson Browne's version of "Stay" was a bit odd. But I'm sure I felt the same way when I heard "The Load Out" without it blending into "Stay" earlier.
Another milestone on day 101... I hit song 9,000 today, which was "Spunky" by Johnny Jenkins from The Complete Stax-Volt Singles: 1959-1968 box set. I may get out of the S's by the end of the week, depending on how much time I can listen over the next few days, but early next week is looking more realistic.
I had to use the word 'additional' for "Steady Rollin' Man" above because I had already heard two other versions back on 12/8/10, titled "I'm A Steady Rollin' Man."
Aside from all the great songs above, here are the favorites from yesterday:
- "Spirits In The Material World" by The Police
- "Splish Splash" by Bobby Darin
- "Squeeze Box" by The Who
- "St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion)" by John Parr

- "St. Stephen" by The Grateful Dead
- "Stage Fright" by The Band
- "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zeppelin
- "Stand On It" by Bruce Springsteen
- "Standing In The Shadows Of Love" by The Four Tops
- "Star Of The County Down" by Van Morrison & The Chieftans
- "The Star Spangled Banner" by Marvin Gaye
- "Start Me Up" by The Rolling Stones
- "Statesboro Blues" by The Allman Brothers Band
- "Stay (I Missed You)" by Lisa Loeb
- "Stay Awhile" by Dusty Springfield
- "Stay With Me" by The Faces
