Changing Castle Chains

Day 18  10/13/10 - 102 songs
First song 8:23AM:  "Caravan" by Van Morrison from The Band's The Last Waltz
Last song 4:54PM:  "Chantilly Lace" by the Big Bopper from Loud, Fast & Out Of Control : The Wild Sounds Of '50s Rock

I'm breaking format today because although there were a couple studio & live versions, they really weren't all that memorable.  A prime example being "A Change Would Do You Good" by Sheryl Crow.  I did get two versions of "Change It" by Stevie Ray Vaughan - one from Soul to Soul, the other from Live Alive, and that was really the only "highlight" as I've had them listed previously.
I closed yesterday with the studio version of "Caravan," and opened the day with both versions from The Last Waltz.  Van Morrison has been coming up quite a bit lately, it seems.
There were a few like titles that weren't covers that were interesting today:
  • "Carnival"
    • Eric Clapton from No Reason to Cry
    • Natalie Merchant from Tigerlily
  • "Catapult"
    • Counting Crows from Recovering the Satellites
    • REM from Murmur
  • "Chains of Love"
    • Erasure from Modern Rock - 1988-1989
    • Joe Turner from Atlantic Rhythm and Blues
  • "Chances Are"
    • Bob Seger & Martina McBride from Bob Seger's Greatest Hits Vol 2
    • Johnny Mathis from Sony Soundtrack For A Century
    • Bob Marley & the Wailers from Fy-Ah, Fy-Ah
  • "Changes"
    • Black Sabbath from Greatest Hits
    • David Bowie from Best of Bowie
The biggest standout for odd songs today was hearing John Fogerty's "Centerfield" followed by "Centerfold" by J. Geils Band.
